I always install a hanging rod or hook **in the laundry area** just for this occasion. They're great for hanging those damp towels you'd use again if the occasion arises, or that t-shirt you threw on just to do a bit of work in the garage, but seems wasteful to throw in the laundry if you may need it again shortly. The advantage of using the laundry area is it reminds you to wash these items you don't need them again, and it gives you something to ***top off* the laundry** if you need to do a load but don't have quite enough items to justify running a full cycle.
